Clare Brooksbank

Clare Brooksbank was introduced to the art of Fore Edge Painting by the Bookdealer Adrian Harrington, for who she produced books for over 10 years. Supplying painted books to the book trade since the early 1990's, she has created close to 1000 works. These have included designs based on classical artist, such as Michaelangelo, Raphael, Breugal, Titian as well as many based on the works of the Pre-Raphaelites artists of the English Arts & Crafts movement. Clare is now based in Derby, Derbyshire UK and now sells her work direct to collectors around the world through outlets like Ebay Auctions. Martin Frost

Since 1970, Martin Frost has produced well over 3000 Fore-edge and Miniature Paintings for the Book trade with examples of his work held in private and Institutional special collections worldwide including many universities and libraries. He regularly lectures and holds workshops in the US and the UK on Fore-edge Painting. As a book-edge decorator, Martin Frost has been involved in the design and production of a number of contemporary designer bindings. He also edge-paints and gilds modern books and undertakes fine presentation leather binding too. In addition to his fore-edge work, he has an interest in 'limning', the archaic tradition of manuscript painting, and has been commissioned to produce a number of miniatures for the covers of deluxe 'Cosway' style bindings and also paints under transparent vellum in the Vellucent style.
